XTERRA Borneo Sarawak 2026 returns to the wild and beautiful landscapes of Sematan and Lundu, Sarawak from 17–19 April 2026, bringing together off-road athletes from across the region for a weekend of epic racing through some of Borneo’s most breathtaking terrain. As part of the globally recognised XTERRA off-road triathlon series, this event challenges competitors across swim, mountain bike, and trail run disciplines in a setting unlike any other — think pristine South China Sea waters, the rugged foothills of Mount Pueh, and lush tribal jungle communities.

The weekend’s headline event is the Full Distance Triathlon, where athletes swim in the clear waters of the South China Sea before tackling an 80km mountain bike ride through the foothills of Mount Pueh, and finishing with a trail run through tropical jungle and vibrant local villages. For those who prefer two disciplines, the Duathlon offers a fierce MTB and trail run combination across the same stunning terrain. MTB enthusiasts can also take on the XC Mountain Bike course, featuring demanding climbs, technical singletrack, stream crossings, and fast-flowing descents through local orchards, plantation trails, and rural villages.

Trail runners are well catered for on 19 April, with three distance options: the Trail Half Marathon for those seeking a serious endurance challenge, the 13K Trail Run as an ideal stepping stone into the XTERRA trail world, and the accessible 7K Trail Run — a perfect introduction to off-road running through coastal and jungle terrain with cultural highlights along the way. Families are encouraged to join, with dedicated Kids Duathlon (600m bike + 1K run) and Kids Trail Run (1K) categories open to children aged 3–10, providing a safe and fun introduction to trail sports.
