Batik Air ExploRide 2027

About the Ride

Batik Air ExploRide 2027 is organised by Batik Air Malaysia itself, positioned as a cycling tourism event in support of the Visit Malaysia Year campaign. Start and finish are both at the Port Dickson Waterfront, and the routes run out along the Negeri Sembilan coastline before turning inland. Flag-off is 5:00am on Sunday 24 January 2027, so the bulk of the riding happens before the coast heats up. Total capacity across all categories is 3,000 riders.

The Categories

Three distances, and the two longer ones are raced in age and gender bands rather than as a single bunch:

• 105km Pro Ride — Men and Women, 16–39 and 40+. Teluk Kemang and Linggi, then inland through Rembau, Pedas and Tampin to Gemas and Gemencheh, returning via Rembau to Port Dickson. Prizes of RM1,500 / RM800 / RM400 in each of the four bands.
• 63km Challenge Ride — Men and Women, 16–39 and 40+. Teluk Kemang, Si Rusa, Pasir Panjang and Linggi out to Kampung Pachitan, returning on the coastal road. Prizes of RM1,000 / RM500 / RM300 in each band.
• 31km Fun Ride — one open category, trophies for the first three men and women. Teluk Kemang, Batu 8 in Lukut and Pantai Saujana back to the waterfront.

Fees and Registration

Registration opened on 1 July 2026 and closes 10 January 2027. The early-bird tier ended on 25 August 2026, so current entry is at normal fees: RM89 for the 31km, RM119 for the 63km and RM149 for the 105km. Each category has an optional ExploRide jersey add-on that brings the total to RM149, RM169 and RM189 respectively. Registration goes through the event’s own portal at events.batikair.com.my, which also supports signing up several riders on one payment.

What to Expect

Port Dickson is one of the easiest coastal rides in the country to get to from the Klang Valley, roughly 90 minutes down the highway, which makes this a realistic day trip rather than a weekend away. The coastal section is flat and fast; the 105km’s inland loop through Rembau and Tampin is where the climbing is. Being a January event, expect warm and humid conditions with a real chance of morning rain, and the usual Malaysian advice applies: start hydrated, carry more than you think you need between the coast and the inland turnaround, and fit lights for the pre-dawn flag-off.

Beyond the ride itself there are lucky draws and finisher medals, and Batik Air are running the event as much for the destination as the racing. If you are riding the 105km for a placing, note that the age bands mean a 40+ rider is not chasing the outright winner, which makes it a more realistic target than an open-category fondo.
