Bike On Friday (Bulan Kemerdekaan)

Bike On Friday (Bulan Kemerdekaan) is a free, relaxed community cycling event organised in conjunction with Malaysia’s Independence Month (Bulan Kemerdekaan). Taking place on the morning of 28 August 2026 (Friday), cyclists gather at Jalan Padang Kota Lama in George Town, Penang, for a casual group ride celebrating the patriotic spirit of the month.

The route is 25km and the field is capped at 100 participants, keeping it a friendly and manageable group. Flag-off is at 7.00am, making it a way to start a Friday morning riding through one of Penang’s most historic areas. The ride is organised by Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang under the Penang 2030 banner, and participation is free of charge.
