Kelantan MTB Challenge 5.0 2026

The Kelantan MTB Challenge 5.0 is a three-day cross-country Olympic (XCO) mountain bike race from 29 to 31 October 2026 at the Bukit Bakar XCO trail in Bukit Bakar Eco Park, Machang, Kelantan. The organisers bill it as a UCI Class 2 event, which makes it one of the few internationally ranked XCO races in Malaysia, and describe Bukit Bakar as one of the most technical trails in the country, with root-covered sections such as Akar Balak 3 Beradik.

Categories

The Elite and Junior races are the UCI categories: Men Elite race 7 laps, Women Elite 6 laps, Men Junior 4 laps and Women Junior 3 laps. Alongside them run the Open (men and women, 4 laps), Master (men, 3 laps) and Youth (men and women, 2 laps) categories. The organiser has not published the lap length.

Schedule

The organiser’s tentative schedule, which it says may change:

Thursday 29 October: UCI course inspection 8:30am to 10:00am (no teams allowed), then team course inspection on foot 10:00am to 12:00pm. Licence control and rider confirmation run from 1:30pm to 5:30pm at the Forestry Complex meeting room, with official training on the course from 2:30pm to 5:30pm and the team managers’ meeting at 3:00pm.

Friday 30 October: Official training 7:45am to 8:45am. Men Master and Youth race from 9:00am to 12:00pm, followed by the Friday prayer break. Women Junior race 2:15pm to 3:45pm and Men Junior 4:00pm to 5:30pm, each with its victory ceremony.

Saturday 31 October: Official training 7:45am to 8:45am. Men and Women Open race from 9:00am to 12:00pm, Women Elite from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and the Men Elite final from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, closing with the victory ceremony.

Teams depart on Sunday 1 November.

Registration

Online registration on the organiser’s Google Form closed on 26 October 2026, after one extension. Walk-in registration opens at 10:00am on Thursday 29 October at the venue, but walk-in riders do not get the event T-shirt or the group insurance that came with online entry.
